Recycling and Trash

Below is a month-by-month listing of the weeks that recyclables will be collected. Place out for collection not before dusk of the day before your collection and not after 7am of the day of collection.

• Everything must be out by 7am an Monday morning in your regular collection area -to be collected sometime that week
• The Borough does not collect tires, appliances, concrete, stone, macadam, or solid waste generated outside of Palmyra Borough. For more complete information or answers to questions, please call the Borough Office before placing an item out for this type of collection. *Clean Up/Fix Up does not include yard waste.

Spring Leaf Collection: March 17 - 20 & April 7 - 11

• LEAVES WILL NOT BE COLLECTED FROM ANY alleys.
• No limbs, grass, or yard waste may be mixed in with the leaves.

Street Sweeping: Begins April and ends October (first weekday of every month)

Yard waste Collection:

• everything must be out by 7am on Monday earning in your regular collection area - to be collected sometime that week
• is collected the week opposite recycling must be placed in regular refuse collection area
• no bags - open containers only
• yard waste in cans must not have lids an and must be marked with the complete word "yardwaste" in large letters on all sides of the can
• limbs 1'-12' in diameter oust be neatly stacked in the regular refuse collection area
• plant pullings (no grass), twigs, and any bush trimmings smaller than 11 diameter, must be put in open containers not exceeding 45 pounds - no bags - no piles
• tree stumps or branches larger than 121 in diameter may be placed for collection, but will be picked up separately from the other yard waste
• various types of yard waste are collected by different trucks, not all at the same tile
• the borough does not collect grass

'Last Chance' Yard waste Collection: One week only - October 27 through October 31

• call the office or review standard yard waste instructions to make sure your yard waste is prepared properly
• everything oust be out by 7am on Monday morning in your regular collection area - to be collected sometime that week
• if your yard wastestorm water is not collected by 3:30pm on Thursday of this week, please call the Borough office no later than Friday at Noon. If it was prepared properly and was missed, the crews will make sure to collect it.

Fall Leaf Collection: Begins October 14 and ends December 5

• leaves should not be placed beside the curb until the day before collection to aid in storm water and traffic control.
• leaves will not be collected from alleys.

• Per Capita Tax $5.00
• Occupational Privilege Tax $10.00 (imposed upon people who are employed in or do work in the borough)
• Real Estate Transfer Tax 1/2 of 1%
